A good leader is the one who takes the views of his subordinates when taking decisions. Decision making, problem solving, far sightedness and critical thinking are some of the qualities of a good leader. Critical thinking is thinking logically and rationally. Critical thinking enables leaders at every level to understand the impact of their decisions on the business as a whole and ensures both alignment with organizational goals and accountability for results. Critical thinking is the use of those cognitive skills or strategies that increase the probability of a desirable outcome. It is used to describe thinking that is purposeful, reasoned, and goal-directed - the kind of thinking involved in solving problems, formulating inferences, calculating likelihoods, and making decisions. It is the kind of thinking that makes desirable outcomes more likely. Critical thinking is also reflective and focused, constantly evaluating the thinking process itself. It is thinking with a purpose. Critical thinking requires a healthy dose of skepticism and an equal measure of good judgment.
A leader who is dedicated for social justice must not only be a critical thinker but also need to evaluate the ethical norms and must follow the ethical norms when taking decisions.
I think that if I ever decide to become a leader, I would envision myself as taking decisions which will be for the larger good. I would take decisions by considering the view point of others. I will never impose my decisions on others rather, I will focus on getting the approval of all the stakeholders when taking a crucial decision. I will also focus on the long term consequences of my decisions. I will also assess the emotional repercussions of my decisions. This clearly indicates that I would be an authoritative leader, where I would have interpersonal warmth and control at the same time. I would not be judgmental of the behavior of others, I would also empathize and will be considerate towards my team.
