since the clinic under discussion is a non profit community health clinic which provides facilities in drug addiction and rehabilitation, the following statement can be used to represent a powerful and effective mission statement for the agency:

Leaning arms: ‘ To provide professional help to people with substance use related difficulties through supportive programmes; to honour and empower them for a drug free future.’

The agency was set up with the purpose to address the growing number of cases of substance abuse in the neighbourhood particularly the youth, the unemployed and others undergoing severe emotional crises. Given the fact that most of the families affected by substance abuse in the neighborhood constitute of single parent, divorced,and/ or low income families, the community clinic aims to provide low fee and pro bono services to addict patients, or formerly recovered individuals who are experiencing a relapse.

In addition to behavioural modification therapy, the clinic focuses on maintainning a strong occupational therapy programme thereby allowing young unemployed or school dropout addicts to develop their professional skills which would increase their motivation towards pursuing a drug free life by finding economic independence through skilled works in society. The organisation adheres to the right to dignity as a crucial human right and it is geared toward some allowing the addicts to reclaim this right for a better future in the community by developing and utilising their own potential and skills to gain a sense of social and economic empowerment and emotional well being.

In this way, the clinic helps to seek a harmonic integration of the recovering patients into their community which would result in greater empowerment for them.
