Does your view of the afterlife resonate with any of the religious approaches you read about?
(Views expressed are personal.)
My views on after life are based on the 'Law of Karma.' It is said, "As you sow, so shall you reap." So, I believe that tha Karma or Actions we do today will affect our future. And the actions we have already done are giving us fruits today. The fate is secondary in one's life, it is our actions that give us happiness and sorrows. We all have desires and we tirelessly work to fulfil them. If our desires don't get fulfilled in this birth, we are born again to get rid of all the wishes we have. However, which life form we will take up depends on our activities.
This view resonates with the hinduism religion. The cycle of our actions throughout our lives determine our rebirth. The karma is a simple interrelationship of the cause and the effect. The doctrine of transmigration of souls depends on the actions we have performed, we are performing now and the ones we will be performing in future. In simple terms, do the good and it will come back to you and vice-versa. Karma doesn't dwell on luck, it is a conditioned free will that creates our destiny. Not all actions will rebound to give a reaction immediately. Some of them accumulate over time and return unexpectedly at other times or after life.
Thus, one should always have right thoughts, right attitude towards words of others and right actions. Though there are several theories about afterlife but law of karma is universally accepted. It may or may not help us in after life but in the present life, it will help us to be a good human being.
