Given the distributed nature of the workforce (manufacturing and
sales teams) how
could online / mobile reporting tools support the organisation?
The manufacturing and sales teams are distributed in different
geographical regions (within the nation and internationally as
well). Thus, the regular communication and reporting tasks can
become difficult if their is no common platform for it. Online/
mobile reporting tools can support the organization for such
purposes to a large extent. It provides a common platform for all
the employees to connect with their colleagues and with the
higher-level authorities. Also, the physical-presence constraint
and time constraints can be overcome by using it. The employees are
present in different geographical locations, but they can still be
together virtually by using a mobile or online networking tool. All
the messages can be received by everyone at the same time. The
company would get a common platform where its employees can
regularly report their work progress. The compilation of all the
reporting tasks at a common platform would make the extraction and
analysis of information easier.
The higher authorities can share their plans, policies, rules,
regulations, etc. with all of its distributed workforces at the
same time. Thus, it is a beneficial tool for an organization in
many ways.
