How should we think about fair trade coffee and other attempts at eco-friendly products and services? Are they a benefit or a hazard to CSR and efforts toward sustainability ?
The practices of fair trade coffee and other practices for eco friendly products and services talks about the contribution that is being made for the sustainable development offering the ethical and better trading conditions for the coffee bean and the farmers to make sure thier rights are not violated under the same. It helps in making sure the products and the services used to export and have the coffee are all ethical, no farmers and suppliers were exploited, support and development is provided to the producers and the supply chain activities is having and exhibiting value in its process to make sure the right goods and healthier items and services are being delivered for futher consumption and usage. The environmental sustainable activities and practices and also the prohibition of the child labour is the main aim to make sure the environment is least depleated and more nourished with this supply chain and management process.
These activities are obviously regarded as the benefit to the Corporate Social Responsibility and the concern raised with the sustainability of the business and the environment. The practices of Social Responsibility are effectively fulfilled in this process to make sure no stakeholder involved with the procurement of the coffee items and beans is violated and every producer/farmer/supplier is having the ethical and the deserved benefits for the efforts and the value created by them to ensure healthier working of the organisation towards sustainability.
