meets the fair standards. The coffee must have been produced in an environmentally sustainable way.
Farming methods should be such that the methods protect farmers health and preserve ecosystems
for future generations.
Workers on fair trade farms work in safe working conditions.
In addition, workers get fair wages. Forced child labor is strictly prohibited.
Importers of fair trade coffee are registered with the Fairtrade organization and pay a fee to the Fairtrade organization.
Importers have to pay a minimum price to the exporting organization as per the fair trade
international standards.
Certified fair trade coffee is exported/sold by organizations on behalf of the farmers.
Importers import directly from fair trade producers so that protects the farmers of fairtrade coffee.
