Think of the oldest person you know. How are the theories of high integrity, reminiscence, life review, activity, disengagement, and continuity manifested in his or her life?
Reminiscence can be described as a process of recollecting memories of ones past.It involves recalling and re experiencing of ones life events.it helps to improve cognity ability in a person Reminiscence can be broken down into three specific types,Reminiscence can be broken down into evaluation,information and obsessive.A integrative life review provides individuals an opportunity to examine events in their lives that determine.The three major approaches toward aging are continuity,activity and disengagement .The oldest person is 90 years,he is involved in many activites such as laughing club,yoga and goes on short walks everymorning.He has stopped visitng friends as his health sometimes does not permit him to travel but has not withdrawn from communicating with them through social media.When he has his grand children next to him,he talks about his old days,his achievemnt, and how culture has changed in this generation advising them on how life should be meaningful and live with discipline.He is often very positive towards life and stresses that only good lies before one and no matter what comes,it can be overcome with good thoughts and courage to face the future.
