THIS IS BUSINESS ETHICS ASSIGNMENT

Think of a person in your life who is something of a scary person for you.

Scary people are those you don’t really know but who are scary to you because you anticipate you won’t like them and hence you avoid building relationships with them.

Your assignment is to reach out to one or more scary persons in your life eg. Invite the person for lunch or just walk up and introduce yourself and start a conversation.

After you have completed your assignment, write one page about your experiences, reflecting on the following:

1.Were you able to reach out to the scary person?

2.What did you discover about the scary person?

3.What did you discover about yourself by doing this activity?

Expert Solution

  • My co-worker is scary enough for me. He has a dominating personality which leads to making him rude and crossing the line in his talks sometimes,he obviously doesnt realizes it. He comes across as intimidating and sometimes a bully. Being assertive always helps and this I decided to do just that in talking to him rather than agreeing to whatever he said just becasue he seems to scary to me. Even though I was nervous I maintained an eye contact with him and appeared confident. Spoke carefully by giving it a thought, discussed the assignment, decided how to go about it and had a healthy coversation with him which made me realize that he is really not that scary. Its just his appearance and the way he takes his work seriously makes him intimidating to others but actually if you talk confidently and clearly with him he is just a normal guy. I discovered that could be assertive and keep my opinion more confidently now and not forming an opinion about others just based on their apperance or the way they talk.
