1: What are the Risk Assessment and Evaluation of Samsung Galaxy
Note 7?
2: What are the mitigation of Samsung Galaxy Note 7?
Ans-1)So here's a Case study of Samsung galaxy Note 7 which might be useful for you.
Risk assessment is basically a process to calculate hazards and risks of any project that might cause injury or any damage to anything.
Hazard is basically a thing whch could cause damage. For eg Knife is a hazard.
Risk in simple words is the damage that a thing could cause.
Note-7 was Launched in August 2016 and had the potential to be the best smartphone in that year. But all of it went into vain when there were issues with the devices. These issues were very major , concerning and fatal issues that could even result in serious injuries. So we will discuss each one of them in the following points
1) It should be noted that whenever any software or hardware project is mad, it undergoes some tests which gives all the possible defects to the company and allows them to rectify errors without circulating it to the market in order to serve a great experience to the customers.
Samsung might have done the same but there would definitely some loophole which resulted in problems. The first case was reported from South korea when a note 7 user's phone exploded and since then there were many cases around the world. Almost 30-million phones were already sold and bringing them back was a huge task for samsung.
2) Samsung brought them all back over a period of two months that recovered 96% of phones. Now samsung started testing its phones for the problem. They tested almost 200,000 phones and found issues with battery.
3) The major risks were the heating problem, exploding of phone batteries and shortcircuits.
Ans-2)These issues were then addressed by samsung officially in January'2017. The mitigation were as follows-
a) Samsung said that the issue was due to the design and manufacturing effect. The battery pouch was small which short-circuited some wires as the bend over each other. Also there were some issue with the battery manufacturing.
b) It was indeed considered a major setback and some also regarded it as a conspiracy.
c) To overcome this, Stakeholders decided to accept the mistake and took the responsiblity to rectify the errors. Samsung also decided not to ignore some points which could have helped them to reduce the loss.
Samsung decided not to ignore social media, Also realised that silence is not a good option in such cases. Quality and safety standards were improved by Samsung and more battery tests like X-ray tests were included which are now existing till date. They finally decided to put all the safety tests and to focus on every minute detail to avois such situation for the next time. They also decided not to rush the product until everything becomes fine.
Also, it is indeed a great step by samsung that they admitted their mistake instead of making some excuses over it. This also kept the trust among it's users and finally led them outside of the crises.
