Finally, categorize global leadership differences according to a leader’s use of power, technology, and knowledge management. Provide at least two leadership approaches for implementing change.

Answer 1. Helathcare sector is very broad and spreads around the globe, not even a single country is operating without a well established healthcare system but it has many challenges to run smoothly that comes in many form, out of them few are listed below like-

Globalization – Globalization is the way of interaction between organizations worldwide. Through globalization business and organization including healthcare develop international influence or they start operating internationally. Each organization wants to be globalized but this also brings many challenges along with huge monitory profits and recognition. In healthcare, globalization leads to globalization of health risks. For example – communicable disease which spread because of international travel, the recent one is COVID-19 which started in China and spread around the globe. Other risk include the import and export of goods that leads to addiction like alcohol, tobacco and business of underperforming cheap medical equipments etc.

Power issue- To operate efficiently each of the sector dependent on effective power supply. Healthcare has extended the demand for power supply because of the burden of high patient inflow, new medical technologies and modern communications are reliant upon power and modernize treatment is increasingly being delivered to the patient. That’s why it is necessary to understanding how healthcare is affected by power loss. In underdeveloped and developing countries regular power supply is a challenge to hospitals and because of that patient suffer a lot. Many hospital in rural areas are not even equipped with alternate option in emergency situation. Patients spend night in darkness and sometime if alternative option like generator fails the surgery procedure become fatal.

Followership issue- Every organization and business sectors run through hierarchy system in which subordinate or juniors have to follow the instruction of seniors but in healthcare world leadership has focused on leaders not on seniors. Followers are the people who follow a particular person or idea. They follow without thinking much about the consequences and outcome. Because of followership healthcare is facing problem while instructing the people involved in care of patient. Followership unit the followers which lead to sudden strike and boycott from work if their demand left unresolved. Followership makes hierarchy vulnerable many time to handle such condition.

Cultural change- Aim of healthcare Culture is good health and well-being flourish across the world and giving everyone the opportunity to make choices which lead to healthy life. Achieving cultural change is ongoing process that includes much deliberate and intentional action toward a change. Sometime this type of change is resisted by some people associated with healthcare because of the personal interest. For example if a hospital focus on more strict plane to reduce the bribe and misbehavior against patient then some employees might be reluctant to adapt to such changes. To improve the services if more incentives for performance are added in salary compared to basic salary they can resist changes. The change in parameter of reward and recognition which goes against the personal interest of some employees can’t be welcomed by together as a whole. Cultural changes also include the delegation of work pattern in which if hierarchy for particular task or department is shifted to new senior then it can be against the wish of some of the employees who support or like to work under previous one.

From above description we can say that each organization goes through many issues and healthcare also not devoid of that.
