Describe a game you could use in your early childhood class to facilitate the development of articulation skills. Discuss in what ways you would use this game, and how it encourages development of articulation skills.
A game that could be used in early childhood class to facilitate the development of articulation skills is the Spy Game.
In this game children should be made to pretend as Spies, and the target objects that are to be called by name should be hidden. The children are given clues of the objects that are to be discovered by them. Once, they discover the object they name the object and repeat the characteristics of the object.
Example- A child is made to discover the picture of a cow. Once, they discover, they would call out the name, they could be made to make sound of the cow as "moo, moo", and asked question what does cow give us, or of the color of the cow. It should be noted that child should be encouraged to answer in full sentences.
This game would help the children to know the names of different objects also to call out their names and help them to speak in sentences than in fragmented phrases.
