Explain how workplace environments create potential disasters to occur. How do these tragedies become focusing events for public policy changes?

Workplace environment provides, safety, security and healthy environment to work that should be according to the guidelines and regularly inspected with due diligence. If these checks don't take place, then any kind of unpleasant event or bigger disaster can take place that can lead to harm many lives. Since people suffered at the work place, due to poor work environment, have families , then these families also suffer. For example, wired electrical cable with good quality,  is the one requirement for a safe work place and it should be regularly checked. If checks don't happen and fire catches due to electrical short circuit, then it can create huge losses, in terms of loss of asset, loss of lives, jobs and closure of the that company office. It became a major disaster due to workplace environment of poor standards.

These tragedies become a talking point and get huge media attention that can create chaos in public & society. To prevent it, the government authorities immediately start taking action and investigate the issue. While, opposition parties, interests & rights groups will get it as an issue and oppose the government. To tackle this, government starts framing more stringent policies and highlights its work in the media briefing. It makes public policy to change so that such tragedies do not take place in the future and all the safety prone organizations are reevaluated as per the guidelines of the new policy.
