WHAT DOES THE ENCODED PROTEIN DO IN THE BODY?
The DNA contains nucleotide sequences which make codons. Three consecutive nucleotide got paired and make a codon. In this way the DNA has many codons in them. When the DNA undergoes transcription and translation, the proteins are synthesized from these codons.
Proteins are long chain of amino acids joined with each other by peptide bonds. These proteins has a lot of role in our body. In a whole sum, these encoded proteins run and regulate all the body activities of an individual. These proteins helps in the following way
They may help some of our cellular or body metabolic processes or make structural components of some of our body structures.
These proteins acts as enzymes like the digestive enzymes after getting secreted from their respective DNAs and help in our body metabolic processes.
Some proteins also form hormones like which are the chief constituent of our body in controlling and running the body processes.
These proteins are also the building blocks of the body structures. Collagen, keratin are some important proteins which are compiling our body structure by formation of muscle, nail/hair etc.
They also helps in acting as storage material like albumin of egg.
Some of them also helps in developing immunity of our body by forming antibodies and also by acting as blood clotting factors.
In overall these proteins helps in controlling all the characters, metabolic processes and behaviour of an individual.
