What are the physical property (mp, bp, Rf) differences between two enantiomers? Diastereomers? Meso compounds?
Enantiomers have same physical properties like melting point, boiling point, NMR spectra, IR etc. they only differ in their optical activity i.e. magnitude is same but direction of rotation will be opposite in both enantiomer. The rotate the plane of polarized light by same magnitude but in opposite direction.
Diasteromers are those componds which do not posses any object mirror relationship thus they differ in their physical properties as well.
Meso componds are those which possess a element of symmetry. which makes them optically inactive compounds. Thus they are same molecule, possess same boiling point, melting point and otherphysical properties.
