What are mechanical property parameters and what are physical property parameters? What are their differences?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Mechanical property tells us about how the body will behave under certain loading condition .... These properties depend on the material of the body such as grain size, grain orientation etc.

Examples of Mechanical properties - Tensile Strength, Buckling Strength, Ductility,Hardness etc.

Physical property tells us about the state of the body i.e. whether it is solid or liquid or gas , what's is the surface roughness , what is viscosity .... Roughly all the parameters that tells us about the physical condition of a body are physical property parameter

Ex- Viscosity, Roughness, Density etc.
