There are a variety of leadership styles. Each of the five styles has better applications and uses.
1. Consider the current state of our society (please select either the State or the Country) and identify which of the leadership styles would be the most beneficial for all of society.
2. Clearly identify if you are focusing your analysis on the State you currently live in (for most of us this will be Michigan) or the Country you currently live in (again, most likely the U.S.A.).
3. Explain which leadership style you feel is most appropriate and why you chose it?
4. What are some potential social issues that could arise due to the style of leadership?

Answer 1= Let us consider the society of Canada, if we look at the different types of leadership styles, the most suitable style of leadership will be participative or democratic leadership. This is due to the fact that the participative leadership can be defined as the combination of laissez-faire and an autocratic leadership and it tries to find the balance between the two. In this type of leadership, there is the active involvement of the citizens in the decision-making process. The suggestions and advice from the citizens are sought and then these suggestions are analyzed and the best decisions are selected by the government. This is best suited for Canada as Canada is an open society, it is important that people have their say in the decision making, however, the government should make the final decision after consulting with experts and at the same time keeping the participation of the common public in mind for the formation of laws, government norms, administrative guidelines and so on.

Answer 2= Even in this case I will support having the participative or democratic leadership as in this type of leadership, there is an opportunity for the common people to provide his or her opinion and being part of the government decision making. So the voice of each one of us matters.

Answer 3= The most suitable leadership style will be Transformational leadership as this is the leadership in which the leader communicates the vision to the followers and then inspire and motivate the followers to implement the change. This type of leadership helps in improving the morale and motivation of the common individual. This leadership style helps in making groundbreaking changes in society

The type of leadership used by the leader has a long-lasting and deep impact on the overall social values of the society

The type of leadership will also decide the nature and type of social values that will be used in a given society

The type of leadership decides how the power or different other types of rights will be provided to the members of the society

The type of leadership will also indicate how open the society is towards the possible changes
