which of the following is a difference in diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus
Answer. No option has been provided, thus, writing on my own.
Diabetes mellitus is caused due to the deficiency of insulin hormone that is released by the beta cells of islets of langerhans.
Insulin helps in converting excess glucose to glycogen and this glycogen gets stored in the liver as reserve food.
Because of insulin deficiency glucose rich blood is supplied to the vital organs of the body like eyes, kidney, heart etc and it causes damage to them of varying extent.
Diabetes insipidus is caused due to the deficiency of vasopressin hormone released by the posterior pituitary.
Vasopressin is also known anti-diuretic hormone or ADH.
It helps in water absorption by the distal convulated tubule plus it also helps in maintaining the glomerular filteration rate.
