treatment for osteomyelitis includes
Osteomyelitis ----- It is a kind of bone infection which is caused by pathogens ( bacteria, fungi).
it is classified into two classes ---
1 Supparative ---- It further classified into acute and chronic supparative osteomyelitis.
2 Non supparative --- It further classified into diffused sclerosing and focal sclerosing.
Treatment for osteomyelitis includes --- antibiotics therapy,surgery and immobilization.
Antibiotic treatment ---- Parentral (IV) antibotics that penetrate bone and joint cavities for at least 4-6 weeks.
Antibiotics which are used in chronic osteomyelitis are flusidic acid, cefazolin and clindamycin.
Antibiotic also stop and kill the bacteria which causes the osteomyelitis.
Antibiotic also stop the spreading of infection from diseased bone to healthy bone.
Surgerical treatment ---- This method is most effective. procedure for surgery is --- Firstly drained the infected area. After that remove diseased bone and tissue.Then restore blood flow through bone. In some cases surgeons amputate the affected limb to stop the infection.
Immobilization treatment --- This treatment also known as physical therapy and joint immobilization.
In this physical therapy consists of maintaining the joint in its functional position.The joint should bear no weight until the signs and symptoms synovitis have resolved.
