A high dose treatment of osteosarcoma includes the use of methotrexate at a starting dose of 12 g/m2 given over a 4-hour IV infusion. The patient has a BSA = 1.7 m2 Calculate the grams of drug the patient would receive after 2-hours of the infusion. Round the final answer to the tenths place.
Answer - Methotrexate starting dose = 12 g /m2
BSA = 1.7 m2
Dose in 4 hour = 1.7 × 12
= 20.4 gram
So In 2 hour infusion = 20.4 /2
= 10.2 gram
So patient recieve 10.2 gram Methotrexate via iv infusion in 2 hours.
