One of your co-workers walks past your combative client’s room and sees the client trying to get out of bed. The client falls and sustain a head injury. • The co-worker should have gone inside the room and asked the patient about what he needs at that moment and why he wants to get out of bed.He can even assist him in getting out of bed.As a support worker these are some of the duties he needs to perform.
• Height and railing of the bed, things surrounding the bed must be moitored to ensure safety.One of the safety worker should be in his room for assistance, all his essential items should be placed close to his bed and bed alarms.These are the changes to be made on the patient care plan.
• The co-worker could display teamwork in this situation by helping in carrying the patient back to bed,look for injuries,inform the doctor for additional support.
