1.) What do you observe about the equipotential lines very near the charges and very far away from them? How does a second charge affect the potential field of the first one?
Equipotential lines are like contour lines on a plane which gives us the lines of equal potential. Also as we know that, Equipotential lines are always perpendicular to the electric field.
As we know potential is greatest or positive near the positive charge and least or negative near the negative charge so that when we observe the nature of equipotential lines near the charges then for a point charge are they shows concentric spheres with center at the point charge. And when we consider these charges very far away form the equipotential lines then for a positive charge it will be direction radially outward and for negative it is radially inwards. Also for equipotential lines near a charge is equipotential and provides a region of constant field and when charge is very far from it then they will feel much low affect in their work done processes.
When we consider the potential field then as per the relation can say that, when we bring a positive charge in the vicinity of other positive charge then its potential will increase and when we bring negative charge there then potential field will decrease.
