Osteomyelitis is an the infection of bone. Infections can reach to a bone by traveling through the bloodstream and spread from the nearby tissue. Osteomyelitis can be also begin in the bone itself by injury exposes the bone to the germs.

Risk Factor-

The annual incidence of osteomyelitis are adjusted for age and sex, was 21.8 cases per 100,000 population. The annual incidence rate in men is higher than in women.and incidence of this increases with age.

Your bones are normally resistant to the infection. For osteomyelitis to occur, a situation that makes your bone the vulnerable must be present.
