Select two diseases that involve different arthropod vectors in their

epidemiology. Discuss each disease and describe the role of each vector in the life cycle of the pathogen and establishment of the disease.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Let us select Malaria and Chagas disease

Malaria...Malaria is caused by plasmodium species and is spread by vector mosquitoes { Female anopheles mosquito}.In malaria patient has symptoms.like fever with chills, weight loss,s splenomegaly, hepatomagely, anemia etc.

Sporozoite is the infective form of plasmodium.when an infectid mosquito bite a person it secrete plasmodial sporozoite in the blood stream of the person which ultimately causes destruction of RBC.The fusion of gametes of plasmodium occur in mosquito.

Another disease

Chagas disease

Caused by Trypansoma species

Spread by Kissing bugs or Traitomine bug

Symptoms...Fever , lymphadenopathy, headache,in severe form.of the disease it can lead to heart failure, enlarged esopahguse,e enlarged colon

Spread...kissing bugs bite and infect the person.T hey pass trypomastigote near the bite site and then scratching at that site pass them in the blood stream of the patient.inside it differetiate into amaatigotes ,which divide by binary fission and differentiate into tryposmastigotes.replication resumes when it enter in another vector
