Intramuscular Injection are usually meant to inject medicine in the muscle usually in deltoid or in anterio lateral aspect of thigh at 90°degree angle

The needle or the site usually depends upon the patient weight and the thickness of the tissue .

Commonly the needle range from 22 - 24 gauze size .

SIZE ACCORDING TO AGE GROUP:

Age<12 months : 1 inch long needle
Age 12 months - 2 years : 1inch
Age 3-10 years :1 inch
Age 11-18 year : 1- 1.5 inch
Above 18 year : 1.5 inch needle
