You’ve been talking to your classmates about your recent lesson on electrosurgery. Your classmate wonders why the patient isn’t electrocuted when the ESU is in use. What do you tell them?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Explanation-

ELECTROSURGERY is basically is used in the modern medico surgical practice to cut ,dissicate, coagulate etc..a human or animal body tissue.

The main advantage of this method is that there is minimum blood loss involved and more precise cuts on the tissue can be made.

The working principal is , passage of high radio frequency electric current to the biological tissue.

The person ,on whom electrosurgey is performed has a very lesser chance of being electrocuted , as the settings of the ECU are set in such a manner.

GROUNDING pads \ return electrodes  are used as a safety device to prevent the patient from being electrocuted. They offer a large area of conductive material to return the flow of energy back to the ECU.

My classmate contends that the pivot point is actually at the point of contact between the...
