One of the most important humanistic psychology is Abraham Maslow who presented the world with his hierarchy of needs. Maslow believed in free will and human ability for excellence by fulfilling the needs from the basic to the complete self-actualization needs. He believed that human beings can have subjective experience that would lead them to self-actualization. His need hierarchy pyramid starts with the physiological needs and proceeds to self-actualization through safety needs, belonging needs and esteem needs. It’s very important for human beings to fulfil the needs in that order because deficiency in one level might cause problems in achieving the next level as each one is connected to the other. For example, one may not be able to experience or one may not want a house when one doesn’t have food to eat thus, food is the basic need and the first one to be fulfilled. Human beings would be able to attain the highest need of self-actualisation in which they would become global citizens by accepting everyone as equal and important.
