How do humanistic theories of personality fundamentally differ from other theoretical perspectives of personality?
The humanistic field of psychology is very much oriented towards the human perspective. This perspective focus on the holistic understanding of human consciousness, the ability to reason, and use language. The main and fundamental aspects of this school are about growth as an individual. The growth comes from the fulfillment of needs and reaching the highest potentials.
Other theoretical perspectives n psychology are limited to their understanding of the human psyche and mind. The behaviorist school was limited to observable human behaviors, psychodynamic is limited to the unconscious mind, structuralism limited to elements of mind, etc
