What does managing for quality mean?
Managing for quality makes certain that the quality of organization, product or service remains stable and do not decline below the expectations of customers. It's not about just determining the quality but also provide means to achieve it. The goal of managing quality is to consummate quality as to provide customers satisfaction.
The main components of managing quality are :
Quality Planning
This process consists of tasks, standards, practices or resources which are helps in achieving or fulfilling the desired quality.
Quality Assurance
In this process, quality is maintained at sources by preventing defects and testing the product or service at the manufacturing site before sending it to the customer.
Quality Control
In this process well defined controls are designed and implemented by standardizing the process and environment. This can be done by training personnel, testing product or benchmarking the quality.
The techniques for managing quality are Six Sigma, TQM(Total Quality Management), etc.
