What does it mean to delay morbidity and how do lifestyle choices factor into high quality of life?
Morbidity means to have a disease in a population and hence to delay morbidity means to delay a disease to happen in individuals in a population. If a person is not having disease then he or she can have a good quality of life. By having a good lifestyle one can have a high quality of life. Some lifestyle factors to take into consideration to maintain high quality of life are:
By having a good healthy, balanced and nutritious diet.
By being physically active by doing regular exercises to keep the body fit.
By avoiding smoking because smoking damages lungs and leads to various respiratory disorders.
By avoiding alcohol consumption because too much of alcohol damages liver, heart, pancreas.
By having a good BMI (Body Mass Index). A good BMI can be maintained by avoiding to be obese and obesity can be prevented by healthy diet and physical exercises. A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered to be good.
