Parents were asked to grade their child’s school for overall performance. The numbers are shown. Draw a pie graph for the data and analyze the graph.

Construct a pie chart by using MINITAB, which is shown in figure below.

 

MINITAB Procedure:

Step 1: Choose Graph > Pie Chart.

Step 2: Select Chart values from a table.

Step 3: In Categorical variables, enter “Grade”.

Step 4: In Summary variables, enter “Number”.

Step 5: In Labels, select percent from slice labels.

Step 6: Click OK.

Observation:

Each individual slice in figure above shows the percentage of different types of grade given by the people for their child’s overall performance in school. More people had graded their child’s school as B and very few graded the schools as D or F.
