Construct the time series plot for the amount a television viewer spends on merchandise, apparel, and snacks by using MINITAB as shown in figure below.

 

MINITAB procedure:

Step 1: Choose Graph > Time Series Plot.

Step 2: Choose Multiple, and then click OK.

Step 3: In Series, enter the column of Amount.

Step 4: Choose Time/Scale, and then click Stamp.

Step 5: In Stamp columns, enter the column of Year.

Step 6: Click OK.

Observation:

From above figure, it is clear that there is a huge increase in the amount a television viewer spent on merchandise, apparel, and snacks between 2005 and 2007. Also, from 2007 there is a slight increase over the years.
