This is a fairly broad question here.Any nurse can go speaking endlessly about this topic.for us nurses, the profession is all about putting ourselves into other people's lives, identifying their pain and problems which may be physical, mental, social or spiritual.being a nurse means you leave your family, your loved ones or your kids to rush into the hospital to care for your patients whom you may never have seen in your life, who may never appreciate your care and the dedication you put forward. But sometimes when you get a smile back from a sick child who got well and is returning home or a heartful thanks from really old person whom you cared like your own father or mother,it fills up your heart and you feel that you have made a difference there.you did something there.Touching someone's life, helping them get better, caring for them in their most difficult times of sickness and vulnerability, that is what a nurse gets to do everyday and evary single nurse around the globe is proud about it.Nurses are nothing less than angels.Even when the pandemic hit, nurses are the biggest work force in the planet constantly and effectively battling it..Every minute in the hospital is scary.you feel like you will break down any time, watching people die, feeling helpless, hopeless and exhausted at the same time but you paint a smile on your face and face everything that the hectic shift throws at you and still survive.Being a nurse means that you may be struggling to find balance between your personal and professional life, you may be underpaid and overworked, may never have got the appreciation you deserved, getting shouted at everyday by strangers or even assaulted but at the end of the day you realize that no one could have done it better than you.You tried to make a difference, you tried to help some one in need..That's all it matters. In short to your question,Being a nurse means to have a meaningful life.
