What does it mean when your dye colors does not match the number of peaks observed using a spectrophotometer? Suggest an explanation .....

Solutions

Expert Solution

Beer-Lamberts law states that absorption is proportional to concentration at each wavelength. Beer-Lambert's law is applicable to only dilute solutions and it also states that when concentration is equal to zero, its absorbance is also equal to zero. Might be the sample in this question is having higher concentration, so the absorbance of the sample dye color does not match the number of peaks observed. That is the results become less accurate.
