Subcultural context of adolescent: whether or not adolesence is formally recognised as distinct stage of life. Virtually all cultures distinguish between young people and adults. Further more, more cultures instionalise a period of preparation for adulthood that may be analogous to adolescence as we know it. Despite some uniformities, however, the structure and content of adolescent period varies markedly from culture to culture in ways that relflect broader social and institional patterns. In other words, the "cultural structuring" of adolescence differs among societies.

In my opinion adolescent is age of "Strom and Stress". Adolescence is a time of major body changes due to an increase in certain body chemicals called hormones. It is a time of pimples, cracked voices and changing body proportions. The adolescent who is slef conscious may find this "changed appearance" somewaht distressing or unattractive and resort to brif meetings, even avoiding contact, with adults who are critical of him.

Adolescents are often influenced by what society considers attractive and many of them, especially girls, begin to diet. Their dressing may reflect popular fashin or what is considered desirable by their peer group.

My main concern for this age gruop is sometimes they are very difficult to control. It's very normal for young people to go through ups and downs. Sometimes they can have sad feelings that last several days. But if your child feels angry, guilt, sad or Cranky more than usual, they could be suffering from depression.

Drug and Society: The negative consequences of drug abuse effect not only individuals who abuse drugs but also their families and friends, various businesses and government
