Also explain why it came into social existence, as well as identify what utility it serves for group members. Lastly, describe the similarities and differences between the subculture you selected and the dominant/mainstream culture in the U.S.
Subculture is an idea within the discipline of sociology where a group of people join together on the basis of some interest. Although they belong to one of the major cultures in the country, they dare to defer from it through their activities.
Bikers subculture stared in the US during the 1940s and 50s and most of them were the war veterans of Second World War and they include men and women. They didn’t want to start a family and get into the clutches of the ordinary life instead, they wanted to feel the freedom and enjoy the fresh air. They are dressed in leather boots and jackets and they also have a tattoo that represents their group. They differ from the major culture. Unlike the traditional people, they don’t like to stay at one place, live with family, work in a job and settle down. They are rather freedom lovers who want to ride till death and enjoy their moments without any regret. They have their own beliefs and customs that are different from the popular culture.
