Providing information before surgery:

Do's :

Patient should stay 24 to 48 hours before surgery.
Gather all the information from the patient that is Government issued photo identification, insurance, and prescription information.
Follow physician instructions about the use or stop of medication
Plan to leave valuable items like credit card,money or jewelers at home because hospital or physician is not responsible for their items if items was lost or stolen.
Remove all the make up, jewelerry, glasses,dentures from the body before going to surgery.

Dont's:

Do not smoke or drink alcohol or any other food night before surgery.If patient should not follow instruction the surgery get cancelled it may be postponed or delayed.
Do not shave before your surgery it will be carried out by hospital staff.
Avoid bring valuable items to the surgery area.
Do not bring your children on surgery day.

Instruction on day of surgery:

Do's:

Brush your teeth and dont swallow water or any other fluids.
Take a shower on the morning of surgery using antibacterial soap.Wear loose and comfortable clothing to be comfortable to patient.
Bring government issue photo identification that is driving licensed,aadhar card or passport.Follow the instruction that is given by the physician.

Don'ts':

Do not smoke or drink including water,chewing gums,candy.
Do not bring valuable items to the surgery day.
Do not wear makeup,perfumes, lotions.

Post surgery instructions:

Transfer patient to the ward
Provide special diet or liquids after surgery.
Family members should only visit at visiting hours.
Take medications for pain.
