SMART GOALS...
When you are starting something you should set some goals.so SMART goals are something which we can set for the success of our goals.
OBJECTIVES
The main objectives or part of SMART goals are
For example here we are going to set a goal of reducing weight for Mr A who is obese and having a BMI of 28
so our main objectives according to SMART goals are
SPECIFIC
We have to explain specifically what all he can eat and what all he have to avoid from his diet .For this we can tell Mr A to avoid carbonated drinks and we can suggest him to add more vegetables in his diet. This is what we are doing in this step.Be specific to our goals
MEASURABLE
Make your goal one you can measure.for example we can tell him to go for walking everyday to reduce his weight.we can measure the distance and time .According to the progress we can adjust the distance and time .So be measurable always to attain your goal
ATTAINABLE
When we are setting a goal first we should think whether its attainable or not.Avoid aiming too high or too low
for example Mr A is obese and having a BMI of 28 and if he aim to reduce 10 kgs in two days its not possible.so while setting a goal we have to think whether its attainable or not.Set your goal according to that
REALISTIC
when we are setting a goal it should be realistic.Forexample losing 10 kg in a day is not possible for Mr A .So if he set a goal like that it will discourage him. So our goal should be realistic at the same time
Time bound
its very important when we set a goal .For example Mr A wish to reduce his weight ,Bt if he is not setting a time period, then he wont be able to achieve his aim.but if he set a goal that he should reduce 10 kg in six months,it will work out, and he will be able to achieve his aim
so, from this we can understand that when we set a goal ,it should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound..These are the main objectives of SMART goal.
