Doing any kind of physical work regularly helps to keep the body healthy. The stored fat will be turned into energy and this helps to reduce overweight and related diseases.

  1. Obesity : The physical inactivity leads to storage of fat in the body. This can leads to overweight and related problems. Morbid obesity can leads to death.
  2. Hypertension : Hypertension is the abnormal increase in the blood pressure from the normal range. The inactive life style leads to increased levels of saturated fats and triglycerides in the blood. This hyperlipidemia will reduce the strength of heart and blood vessels by accumulating inside it. The blood flow through the vessels become difficult and leads to hypertension.
  3. Cardiac diseases and heart attack : The physical inactivity leads to collection of fats in the walls of the blood vessels including vessels supplying cardiac muscles. The formation of fatty plaques in the blood vessels is known as atherosclerosis. This can leads to narrowing and blockage of blood flow through the vessels supplying hear muscle wall and leads to ischemia and myocardial infarction.
  4. Diabetes mellitus type 2 : Physical inactivity is one of the main reason behind non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. The excess fatty acid in the body makes the cells resistant to insulin and leads to hyperglycemia.
  5. Stroke : The atherosclerosis of vessels that supply brain can leads to cessation of blood supply through them and results in ischemic stroke.
