  • Physical activity helps to increase the total energy expenditure in a person which makes a good energy balance in them by burning the excess calories and in helping lose weight,
  • Physical activity helps to decrease fat that accumulates around the waist and also helps to decrease the total body fat thereby decreasing abdominal obesity and contributing to weight loss.
  • Physical activities like eight lifting, push-ups, and other muscle-strengthening activities helps tp build muscle helps lose weight.
  • Physical activity helps to reduces depression and anxiety and this motivates people to follow the exercise schedules regularly and lose weight.

Even if physical activity does not lead to weight loss in obese individuals,it benefits them in the following way:

  • It reduces high blood pressure associated with obese people.
  • Reduces risk of strokes and other heart diseases in obese people.
  • Helps to control type 2 diabetes.
