(i) FOUR BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND THEIR IMPORTANCE:-
1. MAINTAIN WEIGHT:-
- Reduce risk of cardiovascular disease.
- Reduce risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
- Reduce risk of cancers.
2. STRENGTH BONE AND MUSCLES:-
- slow the loss of bone density
- maintain healthy muscles
- reduce some fractures as hip fracture.
3. IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH AND MOOD:-
- Regular physical activity can help keeping thinking, learning,
and judgment skills sharp.
- reduce risk of depression and may help you sleep better.
4. IMPROVE LONGER LIVING:-
- physical activity can reduce risk of dying early from the leading
causes of death, like heart disease and some cancers.
(ii) OVERCOMING WITH FOLLOWING OBSTACLES:-
(a) LACK OF TIME:-
- Identify available 30 minute time slots.
- Monitor daily activities for one week.
- Add physical activity to daily routine.
(b) SOCIAL INFLUENCE:-
- Tell about interest in physical activity to friends and family
and ask for their support.
- Invite friends and family members to join you.
(c) LACK OF MOTIVATION:-
- Make physical activity a regular part of your daily schedule and
write it on calendar.
- Invite a friend to exercise with you on a regular basis and write
it on both your calendars.
(d) LACK OF RESOURCE:-
- Select physical activities that require minimal facilities, such
as walking, jogging, jumping rope etc.
- Identify inexpensive, convenient resources available in your
community.
