The growth and development in the infant can be divided into 3
a. Biological Growth
b. Motor Development
c. Sensory Development
·Biological
growth :-weight becomes double by 4-6 months , triples by 12
months and grow about 1 - 1 and half inches by each month and teeth
will also begin to appear by 4-12 months

Motor Development:- *
Gross motor(movement ) - controlling
the head, sitting, crawling, maybe even starting to
walk
*Fine motor(Hand and finger skills) - holding a spoon, picking up a piece of cereal between thumb and finger
Sensory
Development - seeing, hearing, tasting, touching and
smelling
Others Developments include :-
* Language and intellectual development - starting to make sounds, learning some words, understanding what people say, eyecontact
· *Social and emotional development - the ability to play with family members and other children
