QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (QI) systematic, formal approach to the analysis of practice performance and efforts to improve performance. A variety of approaches - or QI models- exist to j=help you collect and analyze data and test change.
Quality improvement (QI) consists of systemic and continuous actions that lead to measurable improvement in health care service and the health status of targeted patient group.
We consider these hospital work to use alternative medicine a result of a QI intervention because while each program may appear different, a successful program always incorporates the following four key principles:-
- QI work as systems and processes
- focus on patients health
- focus on being part of the team
- focus on use of the data
QI intervention is essential for hospitals because
An organization that implement a QI experiences a range of benefits:
- Improvement patient health outcomes that invole both process outcome (e.g. provide recommended screening)
- Improvement efficiency of managerial and clinical processes
- Avoided costs associated with process failures, errors, and poor outcome.

Example of quality improvement in hospitals
1. Pharmacist-led medication therapy management reduce total cost of care
2. Optimizing sepsis care improves early recognition and outcomes
3. Boosting readiness and change competencies key to successfully reducing clinical variation
4. New generation activity based costing accelerates timeliness of decision support
5. Systemic, data driven approach lowers length of stay and improves care coordination
