Theory X and Theory Y are both very important and helpful for motivating the employee's morale.
Organizations can use both theories to increase the motivation level and productivity of their employees.
Using Theory X:
According to this theory, management believes that employees are inherently very lazy and try to avoid work as much as they can. That is why they must have to be supervised very closely and there is a need of a comprehensive system. A hierarchical structure is very important for effective management.
according to this theory, managers have a pessimistic view of the workers and the sole interest of the company is to earn money. Employees are balmed for any issues without questioning the lack of training, failure of the system, and policy.
Theory X can ve very useful to motivate employees where labor is working as manual labor or in the assembly line.
Using theory X employees can be motivated to get specialization in one particular area which allows the company to produce high-quality products in lesser time. Theory X believes in punishment rather than rewards.
Using Theory Y:
Management who works under this theory believes that employees are self-motivated, ambitious, but worried about the real greater responsibilities. and exercise autonomy, self-direction, and empowerment. Managers tend to belive that employees enjoy work and want to be creative at the workplace and ae forward-looking. By giving freedom the employees company can increase their productivity.
According to their theory, workers under good job satisfaction work better and by providing them a better environment and more freedom the company can increase the productivity, effectiveness, creativity, etc.
In brief, both theory X and theory Y are very different from each other but if the company uses them as a tool to motivate the employees then it will not only help to increase productivity, and creativity but also provide them better job satisfaction.
