which of the plans do you think is more beneficial
from a patient standpoint? A provider standpoint?
PPO plan is more beneficial for patients it allows
them to have flexibility for providers in-network and
out-of-network, patients also doesn't need a referral for use
another doctor including out-of-network as well.
HMO plan is more beneficial for the providers, all
healthcare plans are coordinated by your primary provider. Patients
must receive a referral by a primary to see an in-network
specialist. If you change your healthcare plan to HMO and your
primary doctor isn't part for the in-network you must choose a new
provider within the HMO in-network. Patients must stay within
in-network to receive care unless for it's for medical
emergency.
anything else that I can add to this
PPO- first lets see what is PPO(prefferred provide organisation), this policy gives the members with many choices of healthcare and care providers. In this case, patients can make directly appointment without refferal. The members can get more care from providers outside means the patient still may get some coverage even she/he consulted outside the network doctors. HMO(Health Maintenance Organisation) - under this, it makes to provide good care and services with lowcost prices.HMO provides somtimes cover the screening of health, laboratory test etc. One more benefit of this HMO, it usually cover for the pregnant lady from the time of 1st trimester to till the baby born including new born baby care. In this, the patient can't go directly to the specialist doctor like cardiologist, neurologist. The patient needs first to consult physician then only he/she can consult specialist. The choices of plan r differ from person to person, and the cost provided by the company and their personal convenience. But accorsing to statitics show that people are more likely to enrol PPO than HMO.
