A teen skips school and is caught vandalizing a store front. As a result, the teen is ordered to clean the windows of store fronts each day after school AND loses the privilege of driving the family car. When the teen’s attendance and grades improve, the teen no longer needs to clean the windows AND is allowed the use of the family car.

Negative reinforcement:

The process of establishing a pattern of behaviour by giving punishments and withdrawing their benefits.Punishments are divided into 2 categories.

Positive punishments:

Adding a work for person because of unwanted behaviour.

Negative punishments:

Withdrawing benefits of a person because of unwanted behaviour.

Reinforcer:

A stimulus that increases the probability of a desired response .

If teen's attendence and grades are improved , the teen no longer needs to clean the windows and is allowed the use of the family car.This is positive reinforcement.

Behaviour of Teen is he liking his family car, he hating clean the windows.

Reinforcer is family car.

2. Find the example of negative reinforcement in the passage. Identify the behavior and the reinforcer.

Teen skipped school and was caught vandalizing a store front results the Teen is ordered to clean the windows of store front and lost the privilege of driving the family car.This is negative reinforcement.

Teen is cheerful guy and his behaviour is childish behaviour. That's why he skipped school and vandalized store front.

Teen was forced to clean windows that is positive punishment. Because punisher added a work to Teen

Punisher is shopkeeper. His behaviour is angry behaviour. Because he is angry at Teen for vandalizing shop front.

4. Find the example of negative punishment in the passage. Identify the behavior and the punisher.

Teen is not allowed to use family car. It is negative punishment. Because it is withdrawing benefit,

Behaviour of the punisher is nice. Because cleverly withdraw the benefit of the Teen without getting angry.
