Why is it important for health care leaders to have a strong and positive mentor? Provide specific examples. Do you have a mentor? If so, share your experiences. If not, how might you find one?

a. To provide guidance to the junior.
b. To provide mental support.
c. To increase learning skills of junior.
d. To assess the performance of the junior and provide feedback.
e. Helps in improving performance.

In operation theatre ,Senior surgeon presents with junior surgeon. Here, senior surgeon acts as a mentor. He instructs the junior surgeon about the procedure of the surgery. Junior surgeon follows the instructions and surgery is done by him.
• Yes, I have a mentor. I am a BSc Nursing student and My clinical instructor acts as mentor.
• Previously I was afraid of giving Intra muscular injection to the patient. Oneday my clinical instructor notifies me about the location, angle of injection and procedure of the Intra muscular injection and I have given Intra muscular injection by supervision of her for first time.
