Discuss what needs to be done as part of closing a project.

Project manager ensures the updating of all documents and deliverables of project. All costs are checked to be charged to projects. Finally, it includes client ownership and approval of the project deliverable (product, service or solution).

Process evaluation of projects by project manager: It includes receiving feedback from project teams and stakeholders. It includes checking project actuals with standards in cost and schedule. It includes documenting employed processes and methods in phases of the project till development of the final product.

Release Resources: The personnel in the projects are released and thus they go back to another project / or their organization. The organization systems are prepared to add new projects.

The knowledge gained during the project is properly transferred by people so as to use in other projects.

Archiving the project's official records: It includes the blueprint of the project, minutes of all staff meetings as well as financial statements. It also covers all correspondences, progress reports, materials procurement and other agreement files.
