1. Discuss what needs to be done as part of closing a project. Why are these activities important?
What needs to be done as part of closing a project would be collecting and making final payments, recognizing and evaluating staff, conducting a post project evaluation, documenting lessons learned, and organizing and achieving project documents. These activities are important because they are associated with closing the project should be identified and included in the project baseline plan.
2. Discuss the internal post project evaluation process and the two types of meetings involved?
The purpose of these meetings is to review and evaluate performance on the project and to identify hat can be done to improve performance on future projects. First, of the two types of meetings would be Individual Meetings with Team Members which allows people to speak openly, without the constraints of a group meeting. The second type is, Group Meeting with The Project Team which is when the project manager would lead a discussion of what happens during the performance of the project and solicit specific recommendation for improvement.
3.List several questions that you would ask during a post project evaluation and describe changes that you would make in your next project to improve based upon possible responses to the question:
Some questions that I would ask: What impact did the changes have on project budget and schedule? Were there any particular work packages that overrun or under run their budget by more than 10 percent? How did the actual project schedule compare with the original schedule? Was the project planned in sufficient detail? And was the project outcome impacted by the occurrence of unexpected events? Some changes that I would make is being more thural with the steps of evaluation, and to ensure that the reports are taken into consideration by project managers
