HEALTH POLICY-
Health policies are formal or informal written statements that are designed to protect or promote health of all. Health policy refers to decisions, plans and actions are undertaken to achieve health care goals within the society. These policies give an insight about various diseases which are fatal for us and protect us from possible happening of it. Health policies have a basic agenda i.e HEALTH TO ALL.
EXAMPLES OF HEALTH POLICIES-

- PRADHAN MANTRI AROGYA YOJANA
- UNIVERSAL IMMUNISATION PROGRAM
- MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH CARE PROGRAM etc.
AYUSHMANN BHARAT YOJANA
( World's largest government funded health protection mission)
Ayushmann Yojana is an example of a central health policy being
executed at state & district levels in India .
It is considered as one of the biggest healthcare schemes in the
world, claiming to cover more than 50 crore Indian citizens .
The scheme is also popularly knows as PM-JAY .
The PMJAY was launched in September 2018 by Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare.
The scheme is launched so that people will get treatment without being trapped into the vicious circle of poverty.
Key Features of Ayushman Bharat Yojana -
1.) It aims to provide health coverage for 50 crore Indians.
2.) It provides a cover of 5 lakh per family per year for medical treatment in both private and public hospitals.
3.) Offering cashless payment and paperless record keeping through the hospital.
4.) According to scheme, there is no restriction on family size, age or gender.
5.) All previous medical conditions are covered under the scheme.
6.) It covers 3 days of hospitalisation, 15 days of post hospitalisation, including diagnostic care and expenses of medicines.
7.) The scheme holds women, girl child and over 60 years in special regard.
8.) The scheme aims to improve quality of life of the weaker sections of society who are held back due to health issues.
9.) The policy not only lead to better infrastructure development in rural areas and under served areas but also lead to more and more Indians having access to health care.
11.) PM Jan Swasthya Yojana has defined 1350 medical packages covering surgery, medical and day care treatment including medicines and transportation.

AYUSHMAN BHARAT YOJANA includes list of beneficiaries, which includes-
Beggars, Garbage collectors, Rehdi owners, Domestic help workers, Cobblers, Rikshaw pullers, Security guards, Workers on construction site, Tailors, Plumbers, Sweepers, Painters, Welders, Labourers, Handicrafts and cleaning workers.
* The scheme named as Ayushman Bharat Yojana is jusifiable because treatment under this scheme will increase the life of beneficiaries.
