The five basic categories of regulatory health policies are-

1) Market entry restrictions

2) Price setting controls on healthcare services

3) Quality control of health services

4) Market preserving controls

5) Social regulation

Healthcare services must take an approval for new capital projects is an example of market entry restricting regulations.

There is control on prices of health services by federal government.

Every health services provider must go through quality control and check regarding pharmaceuticals. For example- FDA is an organisation whose approval is important.
